| Enjoy a half day of riding in Bootleg Canyon, the newest spot for
biking in the West. Bootleg Canyon has recently been featured in several magazines
for its scenic single-track and rugged terrain. The 35 miles of trails are fashioned
in ski-slope style, each connecting with another, allowing an infinite number of loops
and runs. With the blue water of Lake Mead looming in the background, you can wind
your way through exciting cross-country trails, keeping an eye open for the occasional
Desert Bighorn sheep. Other wildlife such as the Desert Tortoise, Red-tail Hawk, Turkey
Vulture, the Kit Fox, and the Coyote also inhabit the area, and are often spotted
by the observant eye. After you are outfitted with gear, you’ll receive essential biking instruction from your guide and a quick safety check, then you can start cranking those pedals. Your guide is not only a leader on the trails, but an information guru about local history, plant and animal life, and desert geology. While taking a quick break to refuel and re-hydrate, take in the awesome views of Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon, Boulder City, and Lake Mead. The serenity of Bootleg Canyon is a stark contrast to the bright lights and constant bustling of the Strip. |
| Our guides are experts on this mountain, and can cater to all levels of experience and ability. Our guided trips are arranged to be enjoyable for beginners and intermediate alike. |
| Experience is not necessary, although you will feel more comfortable
on the trail and have a more enjoyable experience if you have ridden a bike off pavement
before. The trails are groomed single-track, consisting mostly of loose dirt on hard
rock, with ups and downs, and some dodging of natural obstacles in your path. Although
the local trail master keeps the area in tip-top shape, the surrounding desert is
extremely rugged and caution should always be exercised when participating in any
outdoor sport. We will supply you with proper protection; however we cannot guarantee you will not have an “off-the-bike” experience. You are the only person who can judge whether or not this trip is for you. |
| For those adrenaline junkies desiring a downhill experience or more technical trip, call us in advance, and our pro-riders will accompany you on a challenging and adventurous ride you’ll not soon forget. |
