Over 50 years of experience in outdoor adventures!
We offer guided exclusive tours of black canyon on the colorado river and lake mead.
Our Most Popular Tour
Get ready to explore scenic Black Canyon from the seat of a kayak. Your day-long tour and pampering begins when we pick you up in our Mercedes Benz transporter from the paddle parking lot at Hacienda Hotel, or from your hotel on the strip.
Your driver and guide will greet you and offer fresh made pastries and hot organic coffee (kept fresh in a air pot) served in ceramic mugs (eco-friendly).
Launch times are 7:00 a.m. 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. for those doing overnight tours. After check-in, we head down the portal road below the dam, where bighorn sheep sightings are frequent. The portal road was used when the dam was built. Today, it is only accessible to licensed outfitters.
When we arrive at the river, your guide will get you set-up in your kayak -- adjust your foot braces, seat and properly fit you with a life preserver -- and make sure you are comfortable. Your kayak storage will contain a gourmet lunch, snacks and your own stainless steel water bottle (leave no trace) that reads Boulder City River Riders. This souvenir is yours to keep.
Then we’re off on your approximately 8 hour tour, which is 9.5 nautical miles. On this extended trip, you can experience hot springs, waterfalls, sauna caves, wildlife, crystal-clear green water and learn a bit about the history of the this part of the Colorado River. Your guide will coach you on paddle strokes and how to maneuver your kayak for the duration of the tour. Our guides are also kayak instructors, First Aid CPR and Wilderness First Aid instructors.
Price: $210 per person (Minimum 2 people per tour)
- Park permit and entrance fee: $17 per person *
- This tour is offered year-round, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
* Each person must obtain a $17 permit from the National Park Service. The Park Service grants only 45 permits each day, so it’s first come first serve – book weeks or months in advance to assure a spot. We can pay for your permit with your credit card so it is ready when you arrive. You will need a valid ID to show the Park Service at check in. They keep track of the number of people going into Black Canyon but they don’t much care if you come out... just kidding, they want you to come out so they can issue more permits.

The Lover's Tour
We created our Lovers' Tour specifically for couples that want a private, romantic tour. Your own personal guide is around only when you want him there. He can paddle near for guidance, paddle instruction and to share the rich history of The Black Canyon, or if you prefer to spend private time in the sauna caves, soaking in natural hot-springs or lying on the shore, he will paddle ahead and wait.
During your excursion, you will dine on deliciously healthy food made daily by locally owned, Milo's Cellar. Your guide will keep your stainless steel water bottle topped off with chilled, filtered water. The water bottle is yours to keep as a memento from your amazing adventure.
